Anastasia “Go Brow” Universal Brow Pencil

I’m a huge fan of thick brows. You’d be shocked to see how a pair of well-groomed, natural brows can totally revolutionize your look. Lately Anastasia Beverly Hills has become the go-to company for brows and I’ve been giving a lot of their products a try. Today I’ll just review the “Go Brow” Universal Brow Pencil.

It’s a dual-tipped pencil with a brow pencil on one side and a highlighting pencil on the other. For $21, I’d say this is a great deal! Brow pencils/powders are simply a must, whether you have thin, sparse brows or thick ones, and a brow highlighter makes worlds of difference in emphasizing your brows and brightening your face. There isn’t another product in the world that pairs both a highlighter and a brow pencil together, so I’d definitely say this is worth the cash! You get .12 ounces, and I’ll say that my Go Brow pencil lasted me ages.

The brow pencil is a medium neutral brown, so it compliments most eyebrow shades, but not all. Always use a light hand when applying this because if you use too much, it will make your eyebrows look super dark. But pretty foolproof nonetheless! The pencil stays like a champ all day and never, ever fades or smears. Comes off neatly in the shower so you don’t need makeup remover. Won’t smudge on your pillows, clothes, or other fabrics your face comes into contact with. You won’t need to touch-up ever.

The highlighter is a light pink ivory. It doesn’t take a lot with this- it’s highly pigmented! Just draw a small line right under your brows and use your finger to blend it across your whole brow. It blends in really well and doesn’t look chalky or sparkly, which I love. Adds brightness to your eyes and, in case you made your eyebrows too dark, lightens how dark your eyebrows look.

I’d say, if you’re looking for an inexpensive option for great brows, this product is it. Works for most brow colors, so it really is universal. HOWEVER, I found that the Anastasia Brow Powder Duo and the Brow Duality highlighter are better when it comes to brow color and highlighting. Though the universal brow color works, I found that using my specific shade (Medium Ashe) in the Brow Powder Duo looks better on my eyebrows. And the pink highlighting color is the same “Matte Camille” shade on the Brow Duality highlighting pencil, which is meant for PINK undertones. The Matte Camille/Sand Shimmer pencil is the pink undertone pencil and the Matte Shell/Lace Shimmer is meant for yellow undertones. Since I have serious yellow undertones, the Brow Duality pencil looks more natural and flattering than the pink shade on the Go Brow pencil.

It’s a great product, especially for the cash, but I prefer just spending the extra cash to get the right brow powder, the right brush for the powder, and the right highlighting pencil that exactly matches my skintone.
